LAUREN WAS (hearts) THE WASSAIC PROJECT from The Wassaic Project on Vimeo.

Thank you for your continued support of the Wassaic Project! Together in 2011, we made amazing strides supporting our artist community of residents, festival performers, and alumni:

• 5 of our residents and alumnae have been given gallery shows based on introductions from our open studios
• Our programs within the hamlet of Wassaic expanded to include a community day thrown in collaboration with the Wassaic Volunteer Fire Department, and we continued to facilitate our kids education program and open studios
• Our organization was invited to curate the only performance art at the Solid Sound Festival at MassMOCA this summer, featuring two of our resident artists

The 2012 festival, which included 5 authors, 9 dance companies, and 23 bands this year (plus over 8,000 feet of installation space in Maxon Mills), once again attracted a passionate and diverse audience and garnered rave reviews… including Susan Cross describing what we’ve all built as “A welcoming place where the divide between art and audience seems to disappear.”

And we’re thrilled to announce that, with over 50 residents this year so far, we’ll be welcoming an additional 25 through the fall and winter as our subsidized residency program is now year-round.

We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to make all of this happen based on your donations and hope we can once again ask for your help.

THANK YOU! and Happy Holidays!
