The Wassaic Project Summer Festival is a FREE, annual, multi-disciplinary celebration of art, music, and community in the hamlet of Wassaic, NY. 2011 will feature over 100 artists, 23 bands, poetry readings, dance performances, film screenings, and much more. August 5th-7th, 2011. Art Reception in Maxon Mills, Saturday 5pm-7pm.

PARKING
There is limited street parking available in the town of Wassaic, and carpooling is strongly encouraged. Parking is available in the Pawling Rubber parking lot located at 32 Nelson Hill Road, Wassaic NY, on Saturday, Sunday, and after 5pm on Thursday and Friday.  There is additional parking at the Wassaic Fire Station located at 27 Firehouse Road, Wassaic, NY.

WHAT TO BRING
- Sun block
- Bug spray
- A hat for shade
- Snacks or picnic meals
- A refillable water bottle – The Wassaic Project is making a concerted effort to reduce plastic waste. Bottled water will not be available, but local tap water will be available for free at all venues.
- Warm Clothes (sometimes it gets cool at night)
- A flashlight.
- Comfortable shoes
- Mojo

WHAT NOT TO BRING
- a grill or any open flame
- your dog

Information for Campers
Food: There will be food vendors will be on-site, however they will not be there all the time. Come prepared with extra snacks and general camping grub. If you have a car, you can drive to a grocery store and local eateries. You cannot bring a grill or make a fire but you may bring a propane stove.

Camping: No camping equipment will be provided at the site. Tents, stoves, and sleeping bags can be rented cheaply at tenttrails.com (located in Manhattan) or thunderbirdtepee.com (located in Brooklyn). There will be no parking on the campground. You must drop off your gear at the camp site and then move your car to the available parking lots. Please note that we allow only gas camping stoves at the camping grounds.

Kids under 10 camp free!

If you arrive onsite without registering, camping is $60 and may already be full!  So register in advance!  All guests are encouraged to stay for the entirety of the festival at the Wassaic Project’s campground. You cannot stay before or after the festival dates.

There are no refunds for camping fees.

ADMISSION
Admission to the Wassaic Project exhibitions and performances is FREE for everyone.

The festival is free, but keep in mind that you’re seeing over 20 bands… FREE!!  That is crazy.  So consider a donation to help us do what we do.

Or, contribute to the Festival in a totally different way by becoming a Festival Volunteer!  Volunteers commit to one 8-hour shift, which may include things like sitting as a docent in our gallery space or serving drinks. Volunteers camp for FREE for the whole weekend, get five free drink tickets plus a Wassaic Project Summer Festival 2011 Poster, and get full access to the Festival!
