Spend the summer (or fall, or spring) with us.

Our interns work side-by-side with our staff and artist residents. They help us install our exhibitions, design arts education programs, apply for grants, create marketing campaigns, and a whole lot more. Along the way, they meet dozens of artists and see some incredible dance, music, and film.

While here, all interns get private studio spaces in Maxon Mills and have free, 24-hour access to our wood shopprint shop, and ceramics studio. They live together in the HVA — a little blue house (with a sweet porch) just down the street from Maxon Mills and Luther Barn.

Our interns have gone on to work at institutions like the Whitney, the Walker Art Center, Highpoint Center for Printmaking, and, of course, the Wassaic Project itself. They've also pursued careers as working artists or in design, education, filmmaking, and many other fields.

2018 Summer Interns

Our internships.

Arts Programming interns work with our Programming and Exhibitions Manager. They help put on our summer exhibitions and summer festivals, and learn all about running an arts organization. This includes (but certainly isn’t limited to) curating, press, marketing, event planning, installation, gallery management.

Our Education Interns work with our Education Director, Tara, and our Education Fellows. They teach in our summer camps, help run our teen and adult education workshops, work in local schools, and spend plenty of time experimenting with new teaching strategies in the Art Nest, our free, drop-in artmaking space for kids.
