Who

Intimate, luminous, and unflinchingly honest, Johanna Warren brings her spellbinding voice and searching songs to Gridley Chapel for an unforgettable evening on 10/30. Hailed as “heartbreaking and stirring” by Pitchfork and “a minutely examined and revelatory emotional upheaval” by The New York Times, Warren is a singular artist whose work reaches deep into the complexities of being human. Her latest EP, The Night of the Wind, draws on a book she wrote and illustrated at age three, offering a whimsical yet profound meditation on creativity, inner wisdom, and the voice of the child within. Based in rural Wales, Warren is also a filmmaker, visual artist, herbalist, and poet whose presence on stage feels both otherworldly and deeply rooted.

Opening the night is The Fascinating Chimera Project, a trio formed by Alex Daud, Andrew Emge (The Big Net), and Dylan Nowik (Camp Saint Helene, Clairo). Originally from New York City and now based in the Catskills, the group blends dreamy textures, ambient folk, and gentle soft rock into a sound both grounded and transportive. Their new album, Songs for the Moon, carries the hush of late-night conversations and the warmth of a shared hearth, with moments that drift into bossa nova, new age, and classic piano balladry. Born from friendship and a love for deep listening, the Fascinating Chimera Project’s music creates space for reflection, wonder, and quiet joy.

Join us Thursday, October 30 at 7PM for this very special evening. RSVP appreciated and donations at the door go directly to the musicians.
