Please join us for a conversation around craft and fiction with writers Ashely Mayne and August Thompson, moderated by Jill Winsby-Fein. There will be a short reading from each artist as well, with Ashley sharing some new work and August reading from his debut novel Anyone's Ghost.

About the Panelists
Ashley Mayne's work has appeared in Fence, Post Road, Juked, Northwest Review, Peripheries, Blight Podcast, Metambesen, and elsewhere. She is the author of novels Mankiller (2014 Dr. Cicero Books), and Tiger (2015) edits fiction for Fence, curates two reading series in the Hudson Valley, and works on an organic farm.
August Thompson was born and raised in the middle of nowhere, New Hampshire, before he attended middle school in West LA. After surviving California optimism, he moved to NYC for his bachelor’s, studied in Berlin, and taught English in Spain for two years. He recently received his MFA at New York University’s creative writing program as a Goldwater Fellow. His debut novel, Anyone's Ghost, releases with Penguin Press in July of 2024.

Jill Winsby-Fein is a fiction writer based in Wassaic, NY, where she works as Education Coordinator for the Wassaic Project. She received her MFA from Brooklyn College and has been published in the Chagrin River Review, Redivider, North American Review, and elsewhere. Her short story "Groundswell" was nominated for a 2024 Pushcart Prize. She is currently at work on a novel.
