Thousands of artists, students, and visitors have passed through Wassaic over the years, and the experience has meant something different to each one of them. Our library is an archive of interviews, photos, and ephemera that we hope will allow for that same process of meaning-making.

We’re proud to be well on our way to the kind of financial stability that’ll allow us to serve artists for many years to come. We run on an every-dollar-counts budget, but aspire to have six months operating funds in cash on-hand in the near future.
We offer over $100,000 in commissioning funds to our artists each year. Growing these funds will give more artists the opportunity to fully realize their visions, and bring the best possible installations to our hamlet.

Our residency currently operates on a sliding scale. To ensure access to anyone who wants to come, our goal is for our residency to be 100% free by 2025.
As of 2020, we now own each of our buildings—including Maxon Mills, Luther Barn, Gridley Chapel, and each of our three residency houses—and can begin making substantial improvements to them.
Every summer, we host a series of day camps for local students. In 2025, we're debuting a new summer camp experience, Vagabond Time Killers: Welcome to the Universe.
All weekly sessions are organized around a story based in Wassaic’s mythical past. While each camp stands alone, we ask that you please share the story below with your child ahead of time so they understand their role in producing the final activation. Every camp and every camper has a role in the universe, and will contribute to a final end-of-summer extravaganza on August 23!
Campers will also participate in the specific camp activities described below and general camp fun like swimming in the creek, exploring our 2025 Summer Exhibition, playing soccer, free drawing, roasting marshmallows, and group games. We ask that campers be present for all days of camp, including the show-and-tell each Friday from 3:30-4:30 pm (except The Unruly Band of Renegade Music Makers and The Wayward Theatre Troupe, whose show will be on Saturday, August 23!). This is important for the group dynamic and the creative journeys we embark on together.
Registration opens December 18 at 11 AM
