Who
In this workshop, participants will design custom stamps with two simple craft materials – foam sheets and pencils – to create imprints onto the foam's surface. We will adhere the designs onto wooden squares and these stamps will come into play as interactive tools. All materials will be provided. To jumpstart the workshop, there will be a quick ice breaker game followed by a short presentation of inspiration / reference images before participants are asked to ideate their symbols and imagery for their stamps.
As a group, we'll share what the word "connection" means on a personal level and in the grander scheme of life around us. Participants will then have time to brainstorm and create their unique symbol or visualization – that represents the abstract concept of connection – into DIY stamps. The workshop will end with participants collecting each other's stamp designs in their booklets, exchanging stories about their symbols and leaving with a physical memorabilia of connection that they can look back on.
