Since recently moving to the Hudson Valley, I’ve been interested in just how much money people will pay to stay in a fancy tent. Glamping.com says that “taking an “upscale approach to sleeping under the stars” encourages “cultural immersion, a broadening of horizons, and a deeper engagement with one’s surroundings.” I’m not sure if that’s true, but visitors are encouraged to lay on this four-poster bed, surround themselves with campfire, and contemplate the sounds of their wild surroundings. — Amelia Biewald, Summer 2022
