Fight or Flight
Camouflage netting, fencing wire, playground tunnel, rope, mirror, deer decoy, paint, lumber, waterproof paper
Fight or Flight interprets objects seen in Wassaic yards—tattered deer shooting targets, falling fences, nondescript piles covered by tarps, old playsets, and free furniture left on the curb with a taped note—as public artworks in their own right, objects whose appearances and placement reveal someone’s intention. This installation creates a relationship between these objects by putting them in action: intruding, covering, obstructing, and deforming.
