Basics is an ongoing series of works that have been realized over the past five years in public spaces throughout the US. While each object is individual and specific to its site, they each nod both to the formal and structural intentions of minimalist art — as well as to the materiality of the everyday and a questioning of the preciousness of the object — through the use of 2x4 construction lumber.
