Alexis Gallo often finds herself imagining a garden, a verdant space for stillness and tranquility. Through scenes inspired by local flora and fauna, this mural explores the idea of paradise and how to find happiness in an intricate world. What is charmingly depicted in this mural is a blue heron stealing an apple from a tree, as a twice-stabbed beetle carries a mock strawberry on its back.  

Alexis Gallo is a Brooklyn-based interdisciplinary artist. Her background in graphic design influences her art practice through the use of grids, bold colors, and geometric shapes. Her work uses motifs from nature and everyday life to explore themes of longing, transformation, and stillness.
