A brightly saturated image of the sun surrounded by clouds vibrates with energy. Radiant and forceful, Heat conveys the overwhelming power of the sun in the Philippines. Stabio has made multiple trips to her mother’s country of origin, becoming a student of Filipino culture and connecting with family, including cousins, aunts and uncles. These experiences are the heart of her work.
