While my first few interactions with Jeff and Bowie were social (and athletic) in nature, I had long heard about this magical art utopia from friends whose taste I coveted. To realize that these folks that I already thought were cool had built, alongside Eve, this whole community from just an idea/vision, I was immediately impressed, particularly after my first few visits. Over the years, my wife and I have bought art, attended events, eaten at the lantern, seen how all the folks at the Wassaic fostered this supportive community of folks with a mission to promote art and artists, and we developed a deeper connection to the Wassaic Project. As I shifted priorities a bit in my professional career and thought about what my priorities were for the next phase of my life, figuring out how to get more involved with the Wassaic Project was high on my list. When Bowie reached out about a potential board engagement, it felt like serendipity.
I’m enthused about the opportunity to support and help grow the impact that the Wassaic Project has on a community that I’ve grown to love and help the team continue to support the growing group of stakeholders who benefit from the Wassaic Project. Also, given the number of times I’ve been mistaken for Jeff throughout northwest Connecticut and the Hudson Valley, I thought I’d just lean into it.
