McKinzie Trotta came to New York from northeast Ohio where she taught printmaking courses at Kent State University and renovated houses on her off days. McKinzie earned her BFA in Studio Art from Kent State University (2017) and her MFA in Printmaking from the Rhode Island School of Design (2020). In 2022 she received the Print Fellowship at the Wassaic Project. This was followed by several years working in the Heimbold Gallery at Sarah Lawrence College. She returned to the Wassaic Project in 2025 as a permanent member of the staff. These days, if not in the printshop she is likely next door in the woodshop. If not in the woodshop, McKinzie is probably meandering around the upstate landscape in her truck, the third best way to spend time around here.
